Abstract

The processes of founding and developing the ancient cities of Iran based on spontaneous, organic and derived from the geographical and climatic, economic, ritual and religious, social, cultural and other conditions that have been moving and developed slowly and continuously in the different periods. In the contemporary century, in addition to the newly formed contexts that are formed on the basis of pre-considered and systematic plans and procedures, the middle context can be identified around the old-built core, which are based on organic procedures and increasing growth, they are therefore developing on the basis of systematic procedures.
What is discoverable in this study in a descriptive-analytic way and in the scale of one district out of 15 districts of Isfahan is the exploration of two residential fabric physical factors, i.e., segmentation and passage network patterns on attested heights by-law for district-5 for the evaluation of implementation level of predicted height and density in its last urban development plan, that is, comprehensive plan revision enacted in 2014. According to the records and maps achieved from the present study, the height plan implementable in district 5 is in contrast with attested height plan; likewise, the 8.2% density predicted in its perspective is not accessible.
