The rapid development of cities, has disturbed biological life cycle, and has caused issues such as air pollution. Air pollution management programs mostly focus on controlling the pollutant production sources. This strategy reduces the entry level of new pollutants, significantly, but is ineffective regarding the pollutants currently present in the air.
But this paper with accepting current situation, looking for air pollution control in order to reduce the level of damages to humans, and this paper follow this major issue in the field of architecture and urbanization and the impact of building skins. In this regard, the capabilities of nature in the topic of air pollution control are presented in the field of architecture and these Triple approaches will review: "water shell", " algae facade" and "green wall"
Aim: Architecture must reconcile its elements in line with Sustainable Development Goals and help to overcome these problems. One of the important approaches in the field of architecture and urbanization is to regard the environment as a model and solution to mediate environmental problems. The main objective of this researches in to achieve a better understanding of the interaction of bio-based walls to improving air quality and reducing pollutant levels.
Research method: Due to the interdisciplinary of the present research, the advancement of this research requires special combination methods, although most of the studies of this paper rely on the library method and the study of available resources but the expansion these researches require combined research in different fields. Due to the lack of quantitative data about the performance of different systems, in this case, after the introduction of systems in the form of tables by identifying the Strengths and the weaknesses, the research was practically carried out, and by qualitative comparison between the systems, the optimal method is chosen.
Conclusion: According to all the steps done in this paper and based on the qualitative comparison of bio based views and the strengths and the weaknesses of each system, it can be expressed that green walls can provide a suitable structure for air pollution control in Tehran. Although review the comparisons show that the green wall in all fields is not an optimal option, but it should be expressed that “green wall” has a greater chance of efficiency in short-term in order to overcome this problem in the capital city.
