Tabriz has been always considered as one of the main centers of production and export of Iranian carpet. Visual factors of these carpets such as design, pattern, and color, for having rich cultural and local support, are special characteristics and cause of superiority of these carpets in comparison with the other kinds. In recent years, in production and exportation of Tabriz carpet, cultural effects of globalization has taken the cultural factors and producing styles of this product into a great challenge.
The purpose of this paper is the studying of effects and results of globalization in Tabriz carpets. Research results show that typical and symbols of Tabriz carpets joining the global network of cultural products trade in form of the globalization phenomenon are found in three areas: A) visual factors B) Technical factors, and C) Practical factors. This process has faced function of Tabriz carpet system as important part of the identity and cultural heritage of Iran with a serious challenge. This approach shows that exploiting from the capacity of human intelligence and equips them with rules and resources, makes the power of user interaction in confront with resulting from globalization surrounded structures in involved agents of Tabriz carpet designing system. Preparation for a better dealing with structures of the globalization of culture for protecting Islamic Iranian culture heritage in global communications is possible by teaching factors of Tabriz carpet production, especially to designers, for making them equipped with a great source of traditional design patterns of Iranian carpet.
A descriptive analytic approach and field study-library based data collection were the research methods used in the present study.
